Maintaining Your Web Site
Maintaining a web site requires an understanding of the same basic concepts and technologies used to build a site from scratch. Site administrators should understand how to connect to their site's web server, and how to create and manipulate a web page's source code. Use the following links to learn how to accomplish these tasks.

PERSONAL WEB SITES
Students, faculty and staff members are encouraged to obtain a personal web site to publish and communicate their interests and contact information. CCIT provides the support servcies for personal web sites.
MINES CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CMS)
CCIT supports a content management system that administers a large number of Mines web sites, including most administrative departments, several academic departments, and a handfull of centers and organizations. The CMS provides users with a web-based interface designed to make site management a less technically demanding endeavor; site owners and adminsitrators with no knowledge of HTML, CSS, FTP, etc. can use the CMS to update their sites. The CMS handles design and branding, which helps users focus on content. To inquire about the Mines CMS, submit a Mines Help Center support request. See the Content Management System documentation page for information about how that system works.
Consistent use of the Mines graphic identity contributes to our image of a strong, unified school with multiple departments that share a common mission. To help web site owners and administrators create sites that adhere to Mines' identity standards, CCIT has created the following web page template packages:
- Inside.Mines template package
This .zip file contains several web page templates that mirror the Inside.Mines site look. Image and .css files included.
- Academic departments template package - UPDATED
This .zip file contains several web page templates that mirror the Mines marketing site look. Image and .css files included.
- Personal home page template package
This .zip file contains the files used to create the default look for Mines personal home pages. If you've changed the look of your personal home page, and would like to revert to the original style, grab these files, add your personal info, and upload to your personal home page space.
